Short answer
Yes. FirstNet handles customer data in line with POPIA, the Protection of Personal Information Act. It also follows its own information security management system, which is certified to ISO 27001.
In detail
That system covers security governance, risk management, change control, monitoring and incident response, all under audit. ISO 27001 is the global standard for running information security. FirstNet also holds ISO 9001 for quality management. Being certified means these controls are written down and checked by independent auditors, not simply claimed.
If you need specific regulatory or POPIA wording in a contract, FirstNet's product and legal teams review it. They do not agree to it on the spot. That keeps the commitment in line with what the service actually delivers.
For services that collect personal information directly, the duty is shared. With FirstNet Managed Guest Wi-Fi, for example:
- The platform provides consent-based login and data capture aligned to POPIA and GDPR.
- Your business stays the data controller for its guest data.
- Your choices on login method, consent wording, retention and data use decide the compliance outcome. FirstNet helps you set this up correctly.
