Quick answers
Can guests reach our internal network?
No. Guest access runs on a dedicated guest SSID or VLAN, so guests only reach the internet. If you don't have a guest network today, our Pre-Sales team helps plan one.
Do we need new access points?
No. The service is a hardware-agnostic overlay that works with your existing Wi-Fi. New access points are only included if separately scoped.
Can we brand the portal per site or brand?
Yes. Branding and terms can be managed per venue or brand, usually from a standard template with approved variations.
Can we limit bandwidth or session length?
Yes. Limits can be applied; the exact method depends on your Wi-Fi and network policy controls, which we confirm during discovery.

Captive portal design per brand or venue, login configuration, site set-up, reporting access, change control and ongoing support.
You provide
Access to your Wi-Fi controller settings, a guest SSID or VLAN, branding assets, and approval of terms and privacy wording.
Separately scoped
New access points, cabling, LAN upgrades, full Wi-Fi redesigns or site surveys.
Rollout
Phased, low-risk rollout
We start with discovery, run a pilot at one to four sites, then roll out more widely by brand or region readiness. Optional add-ons include Purple Shield for guest content filtering and Purple Surveys for real-time guest feedback.
Is the service POPIA compliant?
Compliance is shared. The platform provides consent controls aligned to POPIA and GDPR; your login method, consent wording, retention and data use determine the outcome. We help you set this up correctly.
Can guest data flow into our CRM?
Capture includes standard CRM integrations, and Engage adds loyalty integrations, segmentation and journeys. Non-standard CRM or CDP integrations are confirmed with our Pre-Sales team first.
Is managed guest Wi-Fi included with FirstNet internet?
Yes. FirstNet Managed Guest Wi-Fi's Connect tier is delivered with FirstNet internet links: a branded captive portal, flexible login options, multi-site management and consent-based capture, all operated by FirstNet. Guest Intelligence (Capture) and Guest Engagement (Engage) are optional add-ons when you want visitor analytics or opt-in journeys. New access points, cabling or Wi-Fi redesigns are only included if separately scoped.
Where is guest Wi-Fi data hosted?
Hosting region options are confirmed for each deployment and documented through FirstNet's security and compliance process. The Purple platform hosts data within defined geographic regions and is ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 certified. If your organisation requires in-country hosting, a named certification or a completed security questionnaire, raise it early so it can be confirmed before rollout.
Who owns the guest data collected through our Wi-Fi?
You do. Your organisation remains the data controller for its guest dataset, and the platform supports consent-based login and data capture aligned to POPIA and GDPR. You approve the terms and privacy wording shown on the portal, and your choices on login method, consent wording, retention and downstream use determine the compliance outcome. FirstNet helps set this up correctly.
We already have guest Wi-Fi. Why move to a managed service?
A managed service adds an operating model on top of your Wi-Fi rather than replacing it. FirstNet handles portal changes, consent governance and multi-site consistency, so branding and terms stay aligned across all venues, and support runs through one provider.
