Short answer
Yes. Netskope Private Access replaces traditional VPN access with app-level zero trust access, so users reach only the applications they are allowed to use, rather than being placed on the network as a whole.
In detail
How it differs from a VPN:
- Access is granted per application, based on identity and policy, which supports least-privilege access
- Users are not given broad network access, which limits what a compromised account can reach
- It runs on the same platform, client and console as Netskope's web gateway, CASB and DLP
How FirstNet rolls it out:
- Discovery of who needs access, what they access and what is not working with the current VPN
- Set-up of admin access, identity integration, traffic steering and first access rules
- A pilot with a smaller user group, then production rollout
- Ongoing tuning of Private Access rules after go-live
VPN replacement is a common starting point, and many organisations later expand into wider SSE controls and digital experience visibility. FirstNet can supply, deploy, co-manage or fully manage the platform, depending on how much your team wants to run itself.
