Short answer
Yes. EngineAI, the build team of FirstCoreAI, FirstNet's AI business unit, builds autonomous agents: multi-step workflows that approve, route, tag and report without a person at every step. EngineAI takes each use case from proof of concept to production.
In detail
Unlike a chatbot that only answers questions, an AI agent carries out a sequence of actions, such as classifying an item, deciding where it should go and updating the right system.
What shapes an EngineAI agent build:
- Integration: connections into Microsoft 365, your CRM and other line-of-business systems, where the work actually happens
- Structured data: EngineAI's document and call pipelines turn large volumes of files and recordings into structured output, such as JSON, for downstream systems
- Deployment: on the AI Factory in FirstNet's South African data centre, or inside your own environment
- Models: open-weight by default, with frontier APIs only where justified, and notice from FirstCoreAI whenever a request would leave the country
When an agent's inference runs on the AI Factory, the prompts and data it processes stay in South Africa. That matters for workflows involving customer records, claims or call recordings, where an offshore AI API would mean a cross-border transfer with POPIA questions attached.
FirstCoreAI scopes the business problem first and will say plainly if AI is not the right tool.
