You provide power, mast space, ducting and similar facilities at the installation point, and obtain third-party approvals such as landlord, body corporate or municipal consent. You also give site access during agreed install windows and supply RICA documentation for SIM-based services.
In detail
The full site-readiness list:
- Power, mast space and ducting at the installation point
- Landlord, body corporate or municipal consent for installation
- Site access during agreed install windows
- Notice of safety requirements such as PPE, inductions or restricted hours
- RICA documentation for SIM-based services
- Ownership of your LAN and firewall configuration, unless separately scoped
Approvals are often the longest part of a fibre lead time. FirstNet coordinates landlord, wayleave and municipal approvals with the carrier, and the installation clock starts once they are in place. Microwave and fixed wireless sites also get a site survey, because line of sight, rooftop access and mounting positions affect delivery.
After installation, FirstNet sends a Service Handover Form within two business days, and you have two business days to test before the link moves to the NOC for monitoring.
