Short answer
Yes, if Mimecast email continuity is included in your contracted service. Continuity gives users a failover email experience so they can keep sending and receiving during a Microsoft 365 outage, through Outlook for Windows and Mac, a web interface or mobile apps.
In detail
How FirstNet prepares for an outage:
- Continuity requirements are confirmed in the onboarding technical workshop
- FirstNet designs a continuity runbook during onboarding
- During an outage, FirstNet supports activation and communication to users
- The Resilience and Complete tiers include continuity where it is contracted
Continuity is an optional capability, so confirm it is in scope if this matters to your business. FirstNet does not commit to continuity outcomes or outage guarantees beyond the contracted scope.
Continuity keeps mail flowing during a provider outage. It does not replace a backup of your mailbox data, which is a separate service.
If email downtime has hurt your business before, raise it during discovery so FirstNet can design continuity into the service from the start.
