FirstNet uses Sophos Secure AI to give you visibility of shadow AI use, policy and role-based controls with prompt monitoring, and protection through input sanitisation, output interception and AI data loss prevention, with AI risk monitored by Sophos MDR.

Sophos Secure AI is built on three pillars:
- Visibility: shadow AI discovery, an AI usage dashboard and multi-layer detection
- Control: granular access, global policy, role-based controls and prompt monitoring
- Protection: input sanitisation, output interception, AI data loss prevention and 24/7 MDR-managed AI risk
A Secure AI rollout typically takes two to six weeks, depending on how many AI tools and users are in scope.
FirstNet also offers AI controls through Netskope, whose CASB identifies AI app usage and whose DLP can stop sensitive data, such as POPIA personal information, being exposed in prompts. Which platform fits depends on whether you already run Sophos or are building a secure access stack.
These controls let you set rules for AI use rather than relying on an outright ban. A sensible first step is mapping which AI tools your staff already use.
