Short answer
Yes. FirstNet migrates servers into FirstNet Private Cloud, which runs in FirstNet data centres in Durban, Johannesburg and Cape Town on VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V. FirstNet aligns the target hypervisor to your existing environment to simplify the migration.
In detail
How the move works:
- Discovery and sizing: your VM list, vCPU, RAM, storage tiers, connectivity, backup retention and RTO/RPO are captured
- Solution design: segmentation, firewall rules, backup retention and, where needed, a geographic DR runbook are documented
- Provisioning: your virtual data centre is built in the Hybr management portal and checked against the design
- Migration waves: workloads move in rehearsed, phased cutovers with rollback plans
- Handover: you move to 24x7 Rapid Response support with clear contacts and escalation paths
A discovery and sizing workshop comes before any migration timeline, and complex migrations get a dedicated technical workshop first. If you would rather keep your own hardware, FirstNet colocation in Durban or in Teraco facilities lets you move servers out of an ageing server room without re-architecting. Either way, your workloads stay in South Africa, with disaster recovery options in a second city.
