Short answer
FAZaaS is sold in storage bundles starting at 50 GB and increasing in 50 GB steps. As a rule of thumb, 100 GB holds about 90 days of logs at 1 GB per day, measured before compression. FirstNet sizes the bundle from your device count, daily log volume and retention needs.
In detail
Typical starting points:
- 50 GB: one to three FortiGates at a single site, with little SSL inspection
- 100 GB: three to eight FortiGates with light SSL inspection
- 150 GB: eight to 15 mixed Fortinet devices with moderate SSL inspection
- 200 GB: 15 to 25 devices with active SSL inspection
- 250 GB and up: 25 or more devices, or retention beyond 90 days
FirstNet sizes on raw rather than compressed volume to leave headroom. It recommends sizing up if your estate is still growing, your compliance retention exceeds 90 days, a regulated audit is pending, or full SSL deep inspection is enabled across most policies.
If your needs change, the bundle can be stepped up, and FirstNet alerts you before you reach the ceiling.
