What is FortiAnalyzer as a Service (FAZaaS) from FirstNet?

Hosted Firewall & Network Security · Answered by FirstNet Technology Services

Short answer

FAZaaS is FirstNet's managed FortiAnalyzer service for centralised log analytics, compliance reporting, threat correlation and incident investigation across your Fortinet devices. FirstNet runs a dedicated FortiAnalyzer-VM instance for you on FirstNet-operated infrastructure in South Africa.

In detail

What is included:

  • A dedicated FortiAnalyzer-VM sized to your storage bundle
  • Hosting within FirstNet's South African hosting footprint
  • Patching, upgrades, backups and routine platform operations
  • Capacity and health monitoring, with alerts before you reach your bundle ceiling
  • Standard reporting and managed-service support aligned to your contracted scope

You pay a monthly service in rands based on a storage bundle, so there is no hardware to buy, no virtual machine to run and no Fortinet licence to manage yourself. Bundles start at 50 GB and step up in 50 GB increments.

FAZaaS works with FortiManager, also run by FirstNet, so devices register once, logs flow automatically and reports can be cross-referenced against policy revisions. It is not a SIEM, but logs can be forwarded to one if scoped. Under normal operation, log data stays in South Africa.
