Short answer
No. Smartz is the contact-centre layer that sits on top of your voice service, not the dial tone. FirstNet supplies the voice underneath on the same contract, whether that is Yeastar cloud PBX, FirstNet SIP trunks or Microsoft Teams calling, and Smartz can also sit over a third-party PBX via SIP.
In detail
How Smartz fits each voice set-up:
- Yeastar cloud PBX: the full Smartz overlay on a FirstNet-managed PBX.
- FirstNet SIP trunks only: Smartz becomes your call platform, with IVR, ACD queues, dialler, agent desktop and wallboards.
- Microsoft Teams calling: Teams stays the dial tone, and Smartz adds routing, dialler, messaging, QA and wallboards.
- Your existing PBX: Smartz sits over the top via SIP without replacing it, once interoperability has been tested.
- New contact centre: Smartz, FirstNet voice, call analytics and caller ID on one contract.
Telephony is not part of the Smartz licence itself. It is a separate service on the same FirstNet contract, so you still get one bill and one escalation path.
During onboarding, your phone numbers, SIP trunks and caller ID presentation are aligned to the Smartz tenant. FirstNet's Voice Solutions Engineering team wires the two together and checks your network and endpoints before go-live.
