What network and computers does the FirstNet Smartz contact centre need?

Contact Centre · Answered by FirstNet Technology Services

Short answer

Smartz is browser-based and runs in Chrome, Brave, Firefox or Edge. Each agent needs at least 2 Mbps (4 Mbps preferred) with latency under 300 ms, and a desktop with a quad-core 2.6 GHz CPU, 8 GB RAM (16 GB preferred) and an SSD. FirstNet confirms your network, ports and endpoints before go-live.

In detail

The full environment checklist:

  • Browser: Chrome, Brave, Firefox or Edge.
  • Bandwidth: 2 Mbps per agent minimum, 4 Mbps preferred, with latency under 300 ms.
  • Desktop: quad-core 2.6 GHz CPU, 8 GB RAM (16 GB preferred), a 256 GB SSD and at least a 1024 x 768 display.
  • Firewall ports: 443 TCP for the browser, 5060 to 5062 for SIP, 8088 and 8089 for WebRTC, and defined UDP ranges for real-time media.
  • Wallboards: browser-rendered on screens you supply.

As a worked example, a 30-agent floor needs at least 60 Mbps for Smartz, and 120 Mbps to meet the preferred figure. Connections with latency above 300 ms do not meet the requirements.

Dashboards and wallboards refresh in near real time rather than sub-second. FirstNet's Voice Solutions Engineering team validates the port list, bandwidth and endpoints with you during scoping, so any gaps are fixed before agents go live.
