Short answer
Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and Windows 365 Cloud PC deliver Windows desktops from the Microsoft cloud instead of from physical machines or legacy VDI. FirstNet designs, migrates and can operate these environments for hybrid workers, contractors, BPO seats and cases where data should not leave the cloud.
In detail
Where it fits:
- Hybrid and remote workers who need a consistent Windows desktop wherever they work
- Contractors and temporary staff who need access without company laptops
- BPO and contact centre seats
- Replacing legacy on-premises VDI
- Sensitive work where data should stay in the cloud rather than on devices
FirstNet's delivery covers the Azure landing zone, host pool design, FSLogix profile management, image management and, if you want it, ongoing day-to-day operations.
The two options are bought differently. Azure Virtual Desktop is part of Microsoft Azure and runs on Azure consumption, while Windows 365 Cloud PC is licensed per user per month, much like a Microsoft 365 add-on. Both can be supplied through FirstNet's Microsoft CSP agreement on one rand-billed invoice, alongside your Microsoft 365 licences.
