Short answer
No. Peplink uses standard SIM cards and standard fibre handoffs and supports any carrier, so you can mix fibre, LTE/5G, microwave and satellite from different providers at each site.
In detail
Mixing carriers is the point of bonding: if every link at a site rides the same network, a single outage can take them all down. FirstNet's site survey picks the carrier and technology mix that bonds best at each location, based on:
FirstNet itself is carrier-agnostic, with reach across every major fibre network operator and mobile network operator in South Africa. It can supply the fibre, DIA, LTE/5G and LEO satellite links, or bond links you already have. Because the hardware uses standard SIMs and handoffs, changing a carrier later means changing the circuit or SIM rather than the bonding platform.
The hardware range is flexible too: Balance series routers for branches and head offices, MAX series for vehicles and rugged sites, BR1/BR2 Mini for small branches, ATMs and POS, and EPX for hubs aggregating many branches.
