Does FirstNet supply desk phones for its Managed Cloud PBX?

Voice · Answered by FirstNet Technology Services

Short answer

Yes. FirstNet supplies Yealink and Polycom desk phones, and softphone licences are included with each Managed Cloud PBX seat if your team prefers to call from a computer or mobile phone.

In detail

Desk phones suit reception, switchboards and fixed desks. They work best on network switches that provide Power over Ethernet (PoE); without PoE, every phone needs its own power adapter, which is untidy and harder to keep running during load-shedding. Before deployment, FirstNet audits your switch ports and checks the PoE power budget against the planned number of handsets, and can refresh LAN switching where the current switches fall short.

Softphones are the Linkus mobile and desktop apps. They let staff make and receive calls on the business number from the office, on the road or at home, using the same queues and routing as a desk phone. This suits hybrid and distributed teams that no longer want phones tied to a desk.

Whichever you choose, devices must be ready for day one: FirstNet confirms either a signed handset order with a delivery date or the number of softphone licences as part of planning, because no phones on day one means no voice on day one.
