Short answer
Yes. FirstNet Backup as a Service Track 2 lets you keep your existing Veeam licences and send an offsite copy to FirstNet through Veeam Cloud Connect. For disaster recovery, Platform-Only DRaaS works with your own Veeam licensing, while Managed DR needs Veeam licensing supplied by FirstNet.
In detail
How each option works with existing Veeam:
- BaaS Track 2: you keep running local backups and create a backup copy job to a FirstNet offsite repository, which appears as a target in your Veeam console
- BaaS Track 1: FirstNet supplies Veeam Data Platform Premium licensing per VM or physical server, plus the vault, as a monthly service
- Platform-Only DRaaS: you replicate VMware or Hyper-V virtual machines into reserved FirstNet DR capacity and start failover from your own console
- Managed DR: requires Veeam Backup & Replication licensed and provided by FirstNet under the Veeam Cloud & Service Provider (VCSP) programme
With Track 2 you remain responsible for your own Veeam licensing compliance, and you can still use features such as WAN acceleration and GFS retention for the offsite copies. You can also add FirstNet's Managed Backup Service for some or all of those copies. Managed DR becomes available through an approved move to FirstNet-provided licensing. FirstNet does not sell standalone Veeam licences.
