Short answer
It depends on where you want the bonded tunnels to terminate: FusionHub is a virtual appliance on your own data centre or cloud (VMware, Hyper-V, AWS, Azure or GCP), while SpeedFusion Cloud uses Peplink-hosted points of presence and is ideal for vehicles and rural sites. Mixed designs are common.
In detail
Bonding needs a far end: the links bonded at each site are reassembled into one connection at a termination point before traffic continues to the internet or your network. The options:
- FusionHub: you host it, so bonded traffic arrives inside your own environment, for example in a data centre or public cloud close to your applications.
- SpeedFusion Cloud: Peplink hosts it, so no fixed central site is needed, which suits vehicles, mobile units and rural sites.
- EPX: Peplink's enterprise core router for head office or data centre hubs that aggregate many branches.
FirstNet designs tunnel termination as part of its structured rollout, after the site survey, link selection, hardware sizing and InControl 2 onboarding. A mixed design might use FusionHub for fixed branches and SpeedFusion Cloud for vehicles. FirstNet then runs the estate through InControl 2 and its NOC.
