What happens if a Peplink router supplied by FirstNet fails?

Bonded Connectivity with Peplink · Answered by FirstNet Technology Services

Short answer

FirstNet coordinates the hardware warranty and swap-out process on your behalf, including Peplink advanced replacement where your support bundle provides it. As a Peplink Certified Engineer (PCE) partner, FirstNet can also escalate complex platform issues directly to Peplink engineering.

In detail

How a hardware fault is handled:

  • Detection: InControl 2 alerts feed the FirstNet NOC, so a failed or offline device is picked up.
  • Ticketing: faults are logged and managed through one FirstNet support desk.
  • Replacement: FirstNet coordinates warranty and swap-out, using Peplink advanced replacement where your bundle includes it.
  • Escalation: complex platform issues go directly to Peplink engineering through FirstNet's PCE partnership.

FirstNet has multi-year Peplink deployment experience across South African enterprise, retail, mining and mobile fleets, and runs InControl 2 cloud management on your behalf, which keeps device configuration and firmware under central control.

For sites where even a short hardware outage is unacceptable, raise it during design. Hardware is sized per site by throughput, ports, cellular modems and environment, and power and UPS sizing is part of the site survey.
