Can FirstNet migrate recordings from our old on-premises call recorder?

Compliant Call Recording & Analytics · Answered by FirstNet Technology Services

Short answer

Yes. FirstNet offers a once-off compliant migration of historical recordings from existing on-premises recorders, with chain of custody preserved. It can be added to any FirstNet Compliance Recording set-up.

In detail

How a migration is approached:

  • Discovery captures the legacy recorder vendor, its contract end date, the recordings to move and any deadline.
  • Large or complex migrations, such as several recorders, high data volumes or a regulator deadline, start with a technical workshop before timelines are committed.
  • Recordings move with chain of custody preserved, so there is a record that they were not altered along the way.
  • Migrated recordings join the same tamper-proof archive as new calls, under one retention policy, one search and one audit trail.

The migration is scoped as a once-off professional services engagement, sized per source recorder and data volume, separate from the recording subscription. In the standard onboarding sequence it follows the connection and testing of capture on your live platforms, so new calls are protected first.

Migrating helps businesses retire legacy recorders that face hardware end-of-life, offer no remote or mobile capture and carry expensive storage, while keeping their historical recordings retrievable for audits and disputes.
