Who can access call recordings stored in FirstNet Compliance Recording?

Compliant Call Recording & Analytics · Answered by FirstNet Technology Services

Short answer

Only the people you authorise. FirstNet Compliance Recording uses role-based access with multi-factor authentication (MFA) and full audit trails to control who can search, play back and retrieve recordings.

In detail

How access is controlled:

  • Permissions can be restricted by user, group, recording type and metadata, so a supervisor can be limited to their own team's calls.
  • MFA is required for administrator and reviewer roles.
  • Audit and security logs record who accessed which recording, when and what they did, giving a chain of custody.
  • Sharing outside the platform, for example with auditors, regulators or legal counsel, is controlled and logged.
  • Single sign-on with common identity providers is supported and validated during solution design.

You decide the access model during design, including which recordings Compliance, Legal, IT and supervisors may see and who may place a legal hold. FirstNet then provisions the roles, encryption and retention policies to match.

Day to day, your own admins manage users, or FirstNet can do it for you through the optional Managed Compliance Service. Access changes within the contracted scope go through FirstNet's change control, and the recordings remain yours throughout.
