Retire the VPN: zero trust with Cloudflare, run by FirstNet

FirstNet now leads secure access with Cloudflare Zero Trust: per-app access instead of a VPN, web filtering and data protection, served from South African data centres.

A VPN puts a remote user on the whole network. That made sense when everything lived in one office. Now that apps sit in the cloud and people work everywhere, it is slow for users and broad in what it exposes. FirstNet now leads secure access with Cloudflare Zero Trust, designed, deployed and run for you.

What changes for your people

  • Access per app, not the whole network: each person reaches only the apps they are allowed to use, checked against identity and device
  • Sign-in with the accounts they already have: Microsoft Entra ID, Okta or Google
  • Web filtering and data protection that follow people wherever they work, including the AI tools they use
  • Traffic inspected in Cloudflare data centres in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban, close to your users

Moving from Netskope or an old VPN

FirstNet moves you in phases: we map your current policies, rebuild them in Cloudflare, pilot one team, then move everyone before your renewal date, so you do not pay for two platforms for long. Existing Netskope customers stay supported until they move.

Part of the modern network

Cloudflare is the cloud layer of the FirstNet Modern Network, alongside FirstNet broadband and a Peplink router at each site. FirstNet is a member of the Cloudflare Partner Network.
