Short answer
FirstNet bills AI Receptionist and AI Transcription minutes on one of two models: On Demand, a once-off bucket of minutes used until it runs out, or Monthly Rolling, a monthly minute quota on a 12-month contract. Each add-on can use a different model.
In detail
How the two models compare:
- On Demand is a once-off purchase that sits on top of your Managed Cloud PBX contract. Minutes do not expire monthly; you use them until depleted, then top up.
- Monthly Rolling is a recurring monthly quota on a 12-month contract. The quota refreshes each month and unused minutes do not roll over.
- On Demand suits seasonal, campaign or after-hours-only use, as well as pilots and proofs of value.
- Monthly Rolling suits steady, always-on use, such as an AI Receptionist on your main inbound line or an ongoing coaching programme using AI Transcription.
For example, you could run AI Receptionist on Monthly Rolling for the main line and AI Transcription on On Demand while you trial it. The model is chosen with you at proposal stage, and FirstNet's voice engineers size the minute commitment from your expected call volumes. Quarterly service reviews then track AI minute consumption so the plan can be adjusted as usage grows.
