Short answer
Yes. Call recording is part of the core FirstNet Managed Cloud PBX service, together with IVR, call queues, standard reporting and the Linkus mobile and desktop softphones.
In detail
What the core service includes:
- Extensions, call routing, voicemail, hold music and presence.
- IVR menus, call queues, call recording and standard reporting.
- Linkus mobile and desktop softphone apps, using the same number everywhere.
- SIP trunking and number porting with local South African termination.
- Standard support and platform operations as part of the per-user service.
Optional add-ons include AI Receptionist, AI Transcription, Microsoft Teams calling integration, CRM integrations and contact-centre wallboards.
The built-in recording suits everyday call review. If you need regulated, audit-grade recording, for example for FSCA, FAIS or POPIA obligations, add FirstNet Compliance Recording, which provides tamper-proof storage, retention policies, legal hold and audit logs.
Whichever you use, POPIA expects callers to be told that calls are recorded, so plan a consent prompt on recorded lines and decide before go-live whether to record all calls, only some, or none.
