Which certifications apply to FirstNet colocation sites?

Colocation Services · Answered by FirstNet Technology Services

Short answer

The FirstNet Durban data centre is certified to ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO 9001. Teraco certifications are scoped per campus, so FirstNet confirms the evidence for the specific Teraco site you choose before committing to it.

In detail

What to expect for each site:

  • FirstNet Durban: ISO/IEC 27001 for information security management and ISO 9001 for quality management
  • Teraco sites: certifications and attestations vary by campus; customers often ask about ISO standards, PCI DSS and ISAE or SOC-style assurance reports, which FirstNet confirms for the proposed site
  • FirstNet as a provider: ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 certified management systems, ICASA licensing for ECS and ECNS, and BBBEE Level 1 status

When you need evidence, tell FirstNet which certificate you need, for which scope, and whether it must name the site address. Some assurance reports are only shared under a non-disclosure process.

A facility certificate does not cover your own workload. PCI DSS, for example, is workload-specific, so FirstNet can help you map which controls remain your responsibility. All FirstNet colocation sites are in South Africa, which supports POPIA-aligned data residency.
