Where does FirstNet Apex BI Clarity store our call data?

Telephone Management & Cost Control · Answered by FirstNet Technology Services

Short answer

Clarity stores call metadata in the Apex BI cloud. Access controls, audit trail and retention settings are documented in FirstNet's service terms to support your POPIA programme.

In detail

What Clarity holds and how it is governed:

  • Data stored: call metadata from PBX call detail records and Microsoft Teams Graph API data, such as call times, durations and costs, rather than call audio.
  • Access: role-based access, so people see the reports relevant to their role.
  • Audit: an auditable record of call activity and policy enforcement.
  • Retention: retention settings are agreed during scoping and documented in the service terms.
  • Residency: data residency and processing geography are set out transparently before you commit.

Because Clarity records call activity rather than conversations, it is not a call recording archive. If you need the conversations kept for regulatory purposes, FirstNet Compliance Recording is the counterpart, with tamper-proof storage, legal hold and retention policies, and together they cover the full audit picture.

FirstNet does not claim guaranteed compliance. Clarity supports your POPIA, FSCA, healthcare or education audit programme, but your own policies decide the outcome. Support, including escalation to Apex BI on platform issues, runs through FirstNet as your single point of contact.
