Will FirstNet Apex BI Clarity work with our existing PBX?

Telephone Management & Cost Control · Answered by FirstNet Technology Services

Short answer

Yes, in most cases. FirstNet Apex BI Clarity ingests call data from a wide range of PBX and UC platforms. It is native on FirstNet Hosted PBX, and legacy PBXs are supported wherever a call detail record (CDR) or SMDR data feed is available.

In detail

How support works by platform:

  • FirstNet Hosted PBX (Managed Cloud PBX): the call data feed is native, so your team has nothing to connect.
  • Legacy on-premises PBXs such as Avaya, Mitel, NEC and Panasonic: supported where CDR or SMDR access is available; some connect easily, others need a third-party adapter.
  • Microsoft Teams: Clarity for MS Teams uses the Microsoft Graph API, whether you call through Operator Connect, Direct Routing or Calling Plans.
  • Carrier and billing data: CDRs and billing data can be ingested from multiple sources to centralise cost reporting.

FirstNet's voice engineers confirm whether your PBX can supply a usable feed before you commit, and scope any adapter needed for a legacy system. Adapters for older PBXs may add some lead time.

Because Clarity combines data sources in one tenant, a business running a legacy PBX at some sites and Teams or FirstNet Hosted PBX at others gets one view and one chargeback model across all of them, which keeps reporting consistent while an older PBX is being replaced.
